There is often drama and sometimes tragedy associated with the 4th of July, the day we celebrate our declaration of independence from Great Brittain. This year was no different. Two Georgia men are being charged after allegedly striking a Hinesville, Georgia toddler in a stroller Sunday. Out celebrating the 4th of July, Lester Mena was pushing the child and stroller at approximately 9:47pm when the stroller was allegedly struck by a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88, driven by 19-year-old Dyshawn Davis. Davis now faces DUI, reckless driving, and serious injury by vehicle charges. 21-year-old passenger Quinton Cotton is charged with driving on a suspended license after attempting to drive the car away from the scene, authorities allege.

As of Tuesday, the Hinesville toddler is listed as being in serious condition at a Savannah hospital.
