Although that was certainly not the case, a Griffin man looked seemingly intent on being charged with about half the traffic violations possible under state law after an incident he had with a Georgia State Patrol car this past Thursday.

Events started unfolding around noon that day when the 30-year-old motorcyclist was observed by a trooper to be traveling along I-985 at a high rate of speed. The trooper tried to stop the bike, but the driver fled the scene.

Unfortunately for him, he happened rather quickly upon another GSP cruiser driving in the interstate emergency lane. Unable to stop, he hit both the police car and a traffic post, which sent him hurtling off his bike.

Luckily, he escaped life-threatening injuries (the police investigation did not indicate whether the man was hearing a helmet). He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he was treated for various injuries, including a broken leg.

When he gets out, things look a little bleaker, and he will undoubtedly need an experienced Georgia traffic violations attorney to help him sort through the criminal charges he is now facing. Those include speeding, felony fleeing from an accident, reckless driving, improper passing, driving without a license and vehicle insurance, and possession of marijuana.

The police cruiser hit by the bike suffered extensive damage. The trooper driving the car was uninjured.
