University of Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey was arrested Friday after he drove a borrowed car and hit a parked vehicle in a campus parking garage. He was charged with leaving the scene and with driving with a suspended driver's license.
The car had been borrowed from a teammate, Georgia safety Jakar Hamilton. According to Hamilton, he was not aware that Ealey had a suspended license when he let the sophomore borrow his car Friday morning.
Hamilton was not angry about the incident. "Stuff happens," he said. "If it was me or anyone else, my friends would've let me use their car. It's just a brotherly type hood that we have. And I treat Washaun like he's my own brother. I look out for him just like he looks out for me. Unfortunately, that happened. It's just a minor setback thing. It's nothing really major. Anything could've happened. It could've been worse."
Hamilton added, "Thankfully he's back with us now, he's still playing football, so that's just water under the bridge."
