Georgia school bus traffic violations grab public's attention

A recently conducted study examined the prevalence of traffic violations involving school bus drivers in four Georgia counties, including Gwinnett, Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton. The results of this inquiry found that a number of bus drivers apparently violated traffic laws, which may have some drivers concerned about their commercial driver's licenses.

The study focused on the number of traffic tickets that were issued to school bus drivers in the Atlanta area. Between public records and information provided by school districts, the study took a look at speeding tickets, tickets from red light cameras and any other moving violations.

More Jobs for Holders of Commercial Drivers Licenses

Transportation jobs are being offered at a rate that is up 73 percent from a year ago, including 20,000 new jobs from April to June. A website called Indeed.com tracks online job postings and compiled the numbers. Companies are hiring for truck driving, stocking, warehousing and other freight-related positions.

A significant number of these jobs require a commercial driver's license. A clean driving record is important in getting hired. Gwinnett County commercial driver's license defense attorneys successfully defend many truck drivers.

Several factors are increasing truck driver demand. One is an increase in freight tonnage. As the economy improves, more goods need to be shipped. Transportation industries tend to see growth first.
